Welcome to our humble camp: an original Folly Beach cabin carved out along the river in the island’s prime location. Come here for an authentic Folly Beach experience. Walk in the front door and see straight through to the marsh and harbor beyond. Start the day with coffee on the front porch, end it making music beneath the stars on the back deck.
Tucked among the palms along the river, Camp Huron is a 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom cabin in Folly Beach's best location: pushed back from the road in quiet pocket of the island yet a short 1.5 blocks from Center St and easy walk to the beach. The two master bedrooms each have a queen bed. The bunk room has 2 custom bunk beds and is ideal for children or 2 adults (or 4 very close adults). There is an eat-in kitchen, living room, mud room with laundry, screen porch and back deck overlooking the river.
The vintage cottage dates back to the 1930s, and we’ve preserved as much of the original footprint and charm as possible. The hardwood floors creak. The screen door slaps. The kitchen slants ever so slightly. But the salt air on the back deck blows 10 degrees cooler than anywhere else on the island and the view is a thing of pure poetry.
While the vintage charm remains, Camp Huron does have wifi and a washer/dryer. The home's original kitchen footprint has been preserved and includes a stovetop but not an oven or a dishwasher. There is a microwave and toaster oven for your convenience, but we prefer the outdoor grill and some fresh catch. For rainy days, there is a television (Smart TV) with Netflix, Hulu and Prime accounts, but no cable. We've provided playing cards and our favorite boardgames instead.
